second storie goes to market!

We at second storie are huge fans of the south wedge farmers market, so we are absolutely thrilled to have been invited to be the curators of their arts and crafts tent for the entire 2008 season!  A different artist or crafter will be featured each week.

Throughout their inaugural year, the south wedge farmers market embodied the idea of gathering together a community around locally grown and cultivated food.  As we continually strive for the same through art and craft, it is a natural fit.  We couldn’t feel more at home with them.

Shop every thursday from 4 to 8 p.m., may 1st through november 13th, rain or shine, at the south wedge farmers market, behind boulder coffee, 100 alexander street in rochester. Check out our new blog: second storie} at the market! We'll feature each artist there before their scheduled appearance at the market. We'll also have a running list of vendor links and calendar of appearances in the sidebar of our at the market blog.

craftivism, my pet ...

do you have scraps of fabric hanging around? maybe an old towel or t-shirt that just doesn't serve its purpose anymore? well, bring it along and give it a new life! we will be accepting donations of such items to be reborn as small blankets for the many animals at lollypop farm and other area shelters. help us warm up their little cages as you warm your craftivist heart!

more indie love} gregory paul + baby shiver's boutique!!!

just a quick pip to cheer about the great music second storie has lined up for i ♥ handmade. this is a new element for second storie, and we couldn't be more excited that our handmade valentine's bash will also feature some really terrific local musicians!

opening for our event is the terribly talented gregory paul. we're sure you'll love his unique and super smart folk noir beautifulness. he'll be playing in our downstairs market from 6:00-7:30 p.m. what a great way to kick off i ♥ handmade!

from 8:00-10:00 the always entertaining, guaranteed to make you tap your feet and smile real big, baby shiver's boutique will be up to their usual wonderfulness, also in our downstairs market. there's no better way to round out the evening, in our opinion!

we ♥ our vendors!!!

we are thrilled to announce our second storie} i ♥ handmade vendors!!! with less than two weeks from call to deadline, we had an overwhelming response to our call for artists. more than double our last call! the result is a well rounded, super talented group of artists we're sure your going to love! there truly is no other event in town this full of local indie talent. we are so excited! now on to the list...

i ♥ handmade window is up!!!

the second storie crew is so grateful to marc at :nook for giving us such a great space to advertise and celebrate our latest event. thank you marc! we're so pleased with our little telephone pole. and we're more than pleased {in fact we're downright swoony} over marlene's original of our poster hanging from the line! a limited run of this beautiful illustration will be available for purchase at i ♥ handmade on february 1st, and then afterwards {if any are left} in our etsy shop. 

speaking of our etsy shop, do keep an eye out for our fabulous i ♥ handmade tees! they'll be listed some time in the next week or so.  these tees are in large part a fundraiser for second storie. we've got some great events planned for this year, but could use a little help making them happen!

the second storie crew will be screen printing our design on some super soft american apparel white tees {men's and women's} and adding an extra sweet touch to each one. we know you're going to love them...and how great would it be to see our supporters show up to the event wearing their tees? really great!!! we'll also be offering them for sale at spot coffee the night of the event.

we'll be posting our vendor list this weekend!!! as well as the musical wonderfulness we have lined up for the event!
